Befriending cows in the Swiss Alps, lounging in Italian thermal baths, getting caught in the rain in the Sahara (of all places!)—these are just a few of the spectacular moments captured in our Fall 2018 Photo Contest.
With 468 submissions from students studying abroad in 30 locations around the globe, the Fall 2018 Photo Contest showed that studying abroad can truly take your breath away. Each student submitted photos into one of five categories: Student Experience, Landscapes & Landmarks, The Global Classroom, Internships & Service Learning, and Candid Moments, with 91 of those submissions being voted into finalist status. Our Candid Moments category was new this contest.
After a week of voting, 11,680 votes—which is over 2,000 more than we got for the previous Photo Contest—were cast on Facebook to select our top three winners from the finalists. We also recognized a fourth photo as the IES Abroad Choice, which was chosen based on quality of photo, craft, and originality.
