The National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) has awarded IES Abroad Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer William P. Hoye with its distinguished Fellow of the Association Award.

NACUA is a nationwide membership organization of higher educational lawyers and scholars from public and private colleges and universities. Comprised of more than 700 higher education institutions (including IES Abroad), NACUA has more than 4,100 members.

In its 56-year history, NACUA’s Board of Directors has designated only 33 members as Fellows of the Association. This award “recognizes extensive scholarship in higher education law over an extended period of time for the benefit of colleges and universities.” Bill has been a NACUA member since 1994.

Outside of Bill’s role serving as our Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Operating Officer for more than nine years, he is also responsible for operational decision making and oversight of the Department of Human Resources, the Dean of Students Office, the Information Technology Department, the Office of the Budget Manager & Financial Analyst, Office Services, Legal Affairs, and Global Real Estate. Bill also serves as the Primary Chair of the IES Abroad Crisis Management Teams, the Behavioral Intervention Team, the Operations Group, the New Centers and Programs Committee, global risk management and assessment, and enterprise risk management.

“I am not surprised that an organization like NACUA would recognize Bill with such an honor,” said Dr. Mary M. Dwyer, IES Abroad President and CEO. “We already know the caliber of his work and his character through everything he does here at IES Abroad, from chairing the Crisis Management Team to making sure IES Abroad meets its goals and stays on budget and everything in-between. I’m proud that Bill’s accomplishments transcend IES Abroad and the study abroad field, and are being recognized in the field of higher education law, too. This award is well deserved.”

We congratulate Bill on this prestigious achievement!
