So it has been a week since I arrived in Shanghai for my study abroad. Yesterday was the first time all week where I didn't have any plans so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to go practice my street photography and shoot some video.
I asked a few friends from my study abroad program to tag along since they previously asked for my help in their photography. We decided to go to this beautiful bridge we found online only to find out after some exploration that we were not where we wanted to be. This was, of course, no problem to me because I like to think that the best adventures are made when you are least expecting them. There is a popular quote which goes something like, “it’s not the destination but the journey”. I am a firm believer in this quote because along the way, we unexpectedly passed through some old housing complexes which were so amazing to see. Once we realized we were heading to an old slaughterhouse instead of the bridge we all laughed it off. We explored the old slaughterhouse and had much fun exploring this unexpected destination.
Definitely a location worth visiting again.

After high school, I decided to go solo backpacking in Southeast Asia for seven months because I have a great sense of adventure and a drive to constantly keep challenging myself. Through this, I developed a passion for photography and filmmaking which helped me obtain my current job with the University of Pittsburgh department of marketing to create photo and video content for the students as well as potential students.
