Busy as a Bee

It's been awhile since I've written/posted something here, but I have been incredibly busy. I've finally started to get into a rhythm here with classes, when to go grocery shopping, planning outings with friends and such. So far, classes have been fantastic. They're all so interesting, and surprisingly easy to follow and understand even though they're all taught in French. My professors are obviously passionate about the subjects they teach. It's a little weird for me not having constant homework, but just one big paper due near the end of the semester. There's also no constant testing, but just a midterm and a final. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind not being constantly tested and given homework, but I do like having the confirmations that I am understanding the concepts and such well. The one worry I have about these papers is my procrastination...having 5-6 papers due in the same one or two weeks might be really difficult. I guess I'll have to force myself to start writing some drafts soon. Another big update: I was elected as vice president of the student body here for spring 2016 along with Erin Steward, the president. I'm extremely excited and I can't wait to start planning some awesome events for my fellow students here, as well as make sure everyone is comfortable! Our role is to be the link between students and staff, including making sure students are comfortable in their classes, coming up with social/interactive events to make sure everyone has a chance to get to know everyone else, and so on. We have some (hopefully) exciting ideas for various things during the semester. And now for something completely different: I'm currently writing to you fairing my vacation, which will soon be over. My next post will definitely include lots of pictures and descriptions about my various adventures in Paris, Brussels, Venice, and Turin. As for now, I can definitely say Brussels was probably my favorite city I visited during this week, although I haven't experienced Turin that much. I guess you'll have to wait until my next post to find out! This week of vacation was definitely needed, but I wish it lasted a little longer. This week gave me the opportunity to bond with some fellow students, make my own adventures, and explore various places in Europe. I wouldn't trade this week's vacation for anything else, as I have had a blast! I hope everyone else out on their vacations has had as much fun as we have! I will elaborate more on my vacation in my next post, and I hope the post after that will include my food findings!! I'll definitely have to try more restaurants when I get back to Nantes, as everything I've tried so far has been absolutely delicious!! Until next time!
