Thomas Tusher Scholarship

Amount:
$10,500 total toward tuition and travel ($7,500 from the Tusher Fund and $3,000 from IES Abroad); awarded to 1 student each year

This scholarship was established by Thomas Tusher, Vienna 1961-62, who attended the University of California, Berkeley and went on to be the President and Chief Operating Officer of Levi Strauss & Co. from 1984 to 1996, when he retired. He began his career at Levi Strauss in 1969.

Mr. Tusher has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He is a director of Amisfield Wine Company in New Zealand and AMB Property in San Francisco. He is a former director of Dash America (Pearl Izumi), Cakebread Cellars, Great Western Financial Corporation and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.  Tom serves on the Haas School Board. He is also a director of the World Wildlife Fund and a member of the Board of Trustees of the California Academy of Sciences. 

The scholarship provides financial assistance to high-achieving undergraduate students at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley who are interested in international study.

Eligibility: 

Open to students who have been accepted to attend an IES Abroad spring program and are students in good standing at the University of California-Berkeley Haas School of Business. For more information contact Renee Camarena at renee@haas.berkeley.edu.
