SO/AS/HS 201 - Understanding China

The dramatic changes in China over the past thirty years, far from being an aberration, are a continuation of a dynamic past. This course provides the student with a broadest possible overview of Chinese history, politics, and society to prepare you for your future courses, travels, and time in Shanghai. We will explore a range of issues, both contemporary and historical, as we seek a means to grapple with China’s past, present, and future.
