IR/PO 310 France and the European Union

The course aims at understanding the present state of economic influence of the European continent within the world economy. By providing an ample context, encompassing the entirety of the European continent, it will address the complex interrelations of the European Union with neighboring markets and competing schemes. The course will address in particular the mechanics behind market integration, such as trade liberalization, territorial and market cohesion, the challenges posed by competing monetary schemes and secessionist temptations in the era of globalization. By resorting to a political economic analysis, the course will allow the students to understand the major market dynamics in the light of globalization and the most relevant transformations of corporate and institutional responses stemming from the European continent.
