ES/SO/PO 363 - Equitable Living: The Human Right to Migration

This interdisciplinary course explores migration as a fundamental human right, analyzing the legal, social, and economic frameworks that shape mobility in the Netherlands and the UK. Using the European Human Rights Convention, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), and national immigration policies as a foundation, students will examine migration through the lens of justice, equity, and sustainability. Through project-based learning and engagement with local stakeholders, students will critically assess contemporary migration issues, including labor migration, refugee policies, and climate displacement. Excursions to museums, NGOs, and legal institutions will provide firsthand insights into how migration policies affect individuals and communities.
