CN 351 - Chinese Language in Context: Emerging Independent Abroad II
This class is intended to be a course in Chinese language as part of IES Abroad Shanghai Program for students who have studied Chinese for at least eight semesters or learners with equivalent language proficiency. During the three-month Chinese course, the students are expected to acquire a variety of business Chinese linguistic skills andChinese literature knowledge, and they will also engage in various kinds of language activities and field trips. Research has demonstrated that study abroad can enhance every aspect of language ability. One of the most important general findings of this research is, however, that study abroad is most beneficial for the development of abilities related to business Chinese and Chinese literatures. Students who can enhance communicative competence and prepare them to function more comfortably and confidently in Chinese business environment, such as writing business email , real cases study from real companies, business card design,writing market research report,applying proper Chinese business words、etiquette and culture in business situation. In additions, get more Chinese literatures knowledge, including Chinese Contemporary Literature and the ancient literary Chinese, such as new grammar patterns and more than500 new words.
