IN 395 - Teaching Internship Seminar

This course is a complement and aid to the student’s internship as an assistant to an English teacher in a primary or secondary school in Nantes. The weekly seminar leverages practical experience to help students understand the local context of National Education in France, prepares them for professional integration in the placement, and helps them with the theoretical and experiential aspects of teaching in a foreign language. With a focus on skill-building in critical thinking, teamwork, cultural intelligence, and cross-cultural communication, interns will learn to situate their experience within a broader context of evolving economic, political, and social issues.
