We are very pleased to announce Natanya van der Lingen as new the Center Director of at IES Abroad Cape Town in South Africa. Natanya has been the Assistant Director of the IES Abroad Cape Town Center since September 2015. Prior to that she served as the Assistant Director of IES Abroad London for two years, and in Summer 2015, she was the Resident Director for an IES Abroad French Language Customized Program in Quebec City, Canada.
Natanya graduated from the University KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, where she majored in Spanish and French and also studied Linguistics, Sociology, Drama, Zulu, and Afrikaans. Most of her career has been spent working in the international education sector, including study abroad, global exams, and the English foreign language industry where she was the Center Director of an English language and TEFL teacher training institute.
Along with her devotion to international education, Natanya has a love of all forms of visual and performing arts. She has worked as a freelance arts and culture journalist, a copywriter, a script writer, and a photographer.
Natanya began as the new IES Abroad Cape Town Center Director on March 25, 2016, and succeeds Naomi Claassen, the founding Center Director. We are grateful for Naomi’s work in developing the Center into what it is today, and welcome Natanya into her new role.
