Have you ever wondered what it’s like to study abroad in Barcelona on one of our programs? Wonder no more. IES Abroad Barcelona is giving you the inside scoop on the Barcelona student experience with videos of orientation events and a study journey/field trip to Tarragona, a historic Spanish city.
Ciclo Tour
During orientation week on our study abroad Barcelona programs, students embark on ciclo tour, a guided bicycle tour that weaves through several Barcelona neighborhoods. The tour is one of the Center’s many DiscoverIES – a unique blend of course-related excursions and cultural activities that help students familiarize themselves with Barcelona. As one of 60+ possible DiscoverIES per semester, the bicycle tour includes passing iconic places in the city, such as the MACBA museum, el Raval, the Christopher Columbus statue, Port Vell, and Barceloneta beach. See the sights for yourself in the video below!
Tarragona Study Journey/Field Trip
Every year, students on our study abroad Barcelona programs travel to Tarragona for a weekend of tourism, human castells, and traditional Catalan food. On the trip, they also get to know their fellow students and the IES Abroad Barcelona staff and professors. Though students’ study abroad adventure starts in Barcelona, these trips take them beyond the city to discover the culture and history of Spain.
