We are excited to announce two staffing updates within the Customized Programs and IES Internships departments here at IES Abroad!

Keith Dipple, Ph.D., the Executive Director of Internship Programming at IES Abroad for the past four years, has accepted the new position of Associate Vice President for Customized Programs and Internships on November 9th. In this role, Keith will continue to oversee IES Internships and further their vision and mission, but will also focus his attention on Customized Programs, as well.

As of November 17th, Melissa Comiskey, M.Ed., has assumed the role of Executive Director of Internship Programming. Melissa has served as an IES Internships College Relations Manager and Advisor for the past four years and is extremely knowledgeable about our full-time internship programs and the department.

The structures of both the IES Internships and Customized Programs teams will otherwise remain the same and existing College Relations Managers will still serve as main points contact for colleges and universities in their regions. We feel confident that this larger change will allow our teams to better offer our school partners and students the personalized and constant support that is synonymous with IES Abroad.

About Dr. Keith Dipple

Prior to joining IES Abroad just more than four years ago, Dr. Dipple's work took him to London, Hong Kong, New York, and Chicago. He started his career at Morgan Guaranty Trust Co (now JP Morgan) in London, where he spent more than 20 years managing traders and sales specialists under the firm’s investment bank umbrella.

In 2009, Dr. Dipple became an adjunct professor at the Keller Graduate School of Management (now Adtalem Global Education), where he taught Leadership and Organizational Behavior to master’s students. In that same year, he transitioned into higher education full-time when he joined the University of Chicago Office of Career Advancement as Assistant Director of the Employer Relations and Development team. After one year, he became the Director of UChicago Careers in Business, a selective, pre-professional program for undergraduates, and was later promoted to Executive Director for External Engagement, leading a team of nine who sourced internships for students. He started at IES Abroad in October 2013 for the official launch of IES Internships.

Dr. Dipple has a BS in Healthcare Management, an MA in Leadership, and, in 2015, earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education, with a specialization in Leadership in Higher Education, from Capella University in Minnesota, graduating with distinction. He's also been involved in NAFSA’s Work, Intern, Volunteer & Research Abroad (WIVRA) sub-committee.

About Melissa Comiskey, M.Ed.

Recently promoted to Senior College Relations Manager, Melissa Comiskey, M.Ed., has been with IES Internships since December 2013. As a College Relations Manager over the past four years, Melissa worked with colleges and universities across the United States, as well as served as the Internship Program Advisor for full-time internships in Dublin and Sydney.

Before joining IES Abroad, Melissa counseled students on career development and exploration at the DePaul University Career Center and The University of Chicago's office of Career Advancement. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her M.Ed. in Counseling with a concentration in College Student Development from DePaul University.
