Student Blog Site Hits 1,000 Posts

Barcelona Workshop Nov 2009Chelsea Dinsdale, an IES Abroad London student and Fall 2009 blogger, has the distinction of making the 1,000th post on the Inside IES Abroad student blog site. Her written post, “May I Have Your Autograph?” adds to the words, thoughts, images, and videos contributed by the more than 75 IES Abroad students who have chronicled their study abroad adventures since IES Abroad launched the site in August 2008.

Chelsea, a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, writes “The only question I asked myself when I was choosing a location to study abroad in was: Where’s the most exciting place I can go? First of all, I should tell you what my idea of excitement is… It has anything and everything to do with movies.”

This milestone post — as those of all the student bloggers — captures a moment in study abroad from an unmatched first-hand perspective. Chelsea reveals what the experience is like for her, from her point of view, in her own words. She describes her unique reasons for studying abroad and tells readers how she’s making her dreams come true during her semester in London.

Each day, hundreds of students, friends, family members, and home school study abroad advisors visit the Inside IES Abroad site to get an inside look at what it’s really like for students living and learning abroad.

Since August of 2008, more than 45,000 individual visitors have come to the site looking for students’ personal perspectives on study abroad. Are you one of them? If not, check it out today: blogs.iesabroad.org
