During this year’s International Education Week (November 16-20, 2015), join us as we host a virtual conference on study abroad, diversity, and global leadership in collaboration with Diversity Abroad!

Save the Date: Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST

The first annual Embark to Excel Conference is a virtual event that students can attend from anywhere. The Conference aims to provide students of diverse backgrounds with information and resources to help make study abroad more accessible.

There will be six different sessions addressing topics students tell us are their primary concerns when considering a study abroad experience, including innovative study abroad funding options; navigating across cultures; the rising popularity of study abroad in emerging economies; and perceptions of racial, ethnic, and religious difference abroad.

Study abroad alumni of diverse backgrounds will share their experiences getting to and through study abroad, as well as its impact on their lives and careers upon returning home.

Guest speakers from the study abroad field will also help students maneuver through the study abroad process and answer questions specific to diversity and identity abroad.

Highlight: The Conference’s keynote speaker is Zim Ugochukwu, the founder and CEO of Travel Noire. Travel Noire brings together a global community of black travelers and writers and has been featured in TIME, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, on NPR and CBS This Morning. Zim will also be available for a Q&A session during the Conference.

Don’t worry if you can’t join us for all of the sessions; we will be providing recordings and resources for everyone who registers.
