This summer, we welcomed our first-ever students on our Nice Summer - Multiculturalism in France Program! While they’re enjoying the beauty and complexity of Nice, the program also features a phenomenal two-week, course-related trip to Marseille, France, as well as Rabat and Chefchaouen, Morocco, for students to learn more about the cultures and the people of these major cities nearby.

Our Nice summer study abroad students explored the port city of Marseille through the lens of multiculturalism and immigration studies. They visited the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, the Aubagne headquarters of the French Foreign Legion, and went on historical tours of the city.

After spending 10 days in the Marseilles and a gaining a new understanding of the multicultural fabric of the region, our Nice students traveled to Morocco, where they immersed in the historic city of Rabat. During their time in Rabat, students lived with homestay families to experience first-hand the culture, traditions, and cuisine of this colorful city. Through a series of excellent conversations with local youth, our students traveled onward to the “blue city” of Chefchaouen before flying back to Nice from Tangier.

Overall consensus: A transformative experience!

This fantastic course-related trip is included in the program cost. Find out more about studying abroad in Nice on our summer program for next year.
