Studying abroad is a huge adventure. It’s incredibly rewarding and exciting, but it takes some time to adjust and ease into a life in a very different place. From practicing your language skills with locals to finding your way around a new city, it takes a little patience and some work before your “home away from home” starts to feel like one. In our Blog Post of the Week, Alissa Welker (Quito, Spring 2015) is thankful that she has a host family to help her acclimate to her new home and explains that adjusting to life abroad “…is all about the small victories.”
