We are excited to connect with old friends and meet new colleagues in Denver during the 2016 NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo.

We invite you to stop by booth #2205 to learn more about the new IES Abroad and IES Internships programs for 2017-18, discover the increased access to study abroad our 12 for 12 for 12 programs provide, and take a virtual tour of our programs. That’s right, we’ll have Oculus Gear VR and Merge VR goggles available for you to step into the world of virtual reality!

Career and Professional Development Poster Fair: A 360 Degree View of German Higher Education: The Baden-Württemberg Seminar

The annual Baden-Württemberg seminar offers a 7-day professional travel opportunity highlighting the German educational system and student exchange programs between Germany and the United States.

Session: Student Mobility Between Cuba and the United States: A Relationship in Transition

Presenters: Michael Steinberg (IES Abroad); Liliane Bauduy, Jeffrey Braunger (OFAC), and Erika Ryser Garcia (IFSA-Butler)
Explore the impact of the changes in U.S. policies towards Cuba and the restoration of diplomatic relations on international education. Learn about the educational system of the island nation, the changes that have occurred since President Obama’s executive action with regard to Cuba, and the current U.S. Treasury Department policies with respect to doing business in Cuba.

Presenters: Gretchen Cook-Anderson (IES Abroad) and Margaret McCullers (IFSA-Butler)
Discover ways to support underrepresented students and professionals in education abroad from NAFSA’s Underrepresentation in Education Abroad Subcommittee and its commitment to fostering greater diversity.

Open Meeting: Dialogue for Successfully Navigating the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Title IX
Room: CCC, 205
Facilitator: Michael Steinberg (IES Abroad)
Discuss Regulations such as VAWA and Title IX on campuses and on education abroad programs. This meeting is part of the EA Strategy and Policy Focus Track.

We are also excited to support the launch of the Global Leadership League through sponsorship of their reception and event, as well as the Rainbow SIG reception on Wednesday, June 1.
