Every year, IES Abroad recognizes a study abroad professional with the Professional Development Award.
IES Abroad proudly presented this year’s award to Kristen Mallory, Director of Off-Campus Study at Claremont McKenna College, Claremont, CA, at IES Abroad’s Annual Conference, October 16 in Chicago.
The Professional Development Award recognizes an education abroad professional who has made significant contributions to the field by creatively using resources to promote and support study abroad and provided leadership in the areas of program development and student services. The awardee is chosen by IES Abroad’s Nominations Committee, composed of IES Abroad full member school study abroad coordinators. They base their choices upon nominations received from IES Abroad’s full consortium members.
Ms. Mallory has served at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, the Study Abroad Foundation, and the Forum on Education Abroad. She also was elected to the IES Abroad Academic Council, and chaired the IES Abroad Nominations Committee, as well as an IES Abroad Program Review Committee. She also has made three professional presentations at the IES Abroad Annual Conference. Ms. Mallory has also served the entire study abroad field serving NAFSA and the Forum on Education Abroad in a variety of capacities.
Congratulations!
