Monday, March 3rd was Hinamatsuri—Doll’s Day or Girls' Day—in Japan, during which the dolls of the Emperor, the Empress, and nobles of the Heian court are displayed inside the home. As IES Abroad Nagoya student blogger, Anh Nguyen, explains, the holiday is "celebrated in hopes that the girl of the house grows up healthily.” Read more about how Anh, her host family, and fellow classmates celebrated in this Blog Post of the Week.
