During Ariel’s previous tenure with IES Abroad Buenos Aires, he worked closely with his faculty to revise existing courses, fostering active learning and in-depth experiential components.
Ariel holds a Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his thesis focused on the politics of corruption and patronage in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the turn of the nineteenth century. He has received grants to support his research from the Social Sciences Research Council, the Tinker Foundation, and the Newberry Library, and has published articles in prestigious academic journals such as the Journal of Latin American Studies. As a content writer, Ariel has worked on two major documentary series for the Argentine Public Television channel and The History Channel.
We look forward to the ways in which Ariel’s impressive expertise will support and enrich the study abroad experience for our students at IES Abroad Buenos Aires. Join us in congratulating Ariel on his new role!
