Congratulations to our 2013-14 Blogger of the Year, Meghan Johns (Rabat, Spring 2014)!

A senior studying Studio Art, Art History, and French at Carthage College, Meghan went above and beyond our expectations as a video blogger. Her videos were beautifully produced, honest, and full of energy, accompanied by eloquent written accounts of Moroccan culture and the growth she was experiencing.

In one post, she wrote, “Something I hope to bring back to my lifestyle in America is indeed the way Moroccans are so warm to one another. I plan to treat strangers with a little more hospitality because it does affect how a person perceives the place where they are. And, not to get all gooey, but…we all want to make this world a nicer place, don’t we?”

Meghan’s final video, Memories from the Maghreb, was selected as a semi-finalist in this year’s Film Festival, earning her the superlative of “Most Inspiring.” Visit her blog to see all of her posts.

Meghan will receive a certificate and prize, as well as recognition at the IES Abroad Annual Conference.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, Meghan!
