Even though many of us are back in the office, we’re still feeling pretty excited about some of the quarantine hobbies that we picked up. For IES Abroad, that means virtual cooking classes with our colleagues from around the world! Learn how to make that staple of Spanish cuisine: Tortilla Española (Spanish Omelette.) Pep Inglés, tortilla aficionado and IES Barcelona instructor, will take students step-by-step through the process of preparing this delicious dish, from peeling the potatoes to the art of flipping the omelette. We know what you’re thinking…. onions or no onions? It’s totally up to you!
If you’re still working from home, cook along with us! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 medium potatoes
- 6 eggs
- Salt and pepper
- 2-4 cups olive oil (or any vegetable oil for frying)
- Caramelized onion (These are optional but must be caramelized in advance if you’re going to use them!)
- 1 clove of garlic (optional)
Required utensils: chopping board, colander, knife, non-stick frying pan, a plate, and a spatula
