The Careers, Internships, and Global Learning (CIGL) Conference focuses on preparing students for meaningful global experiences. Hosted by The Forum on Education Abroad, the CIGL brings together educators and professionals to discuss the intersection of study abroad, career development, and internships. Through insightful discussions, the conference offers strategies for turning academic journeys abroad into valuable career skills, bridging the gap between global learning and professional growth.
This year's CIGL Conference, running from October 13-15 in Athens, Greece, will feature IES Internships Executive Director Melissa Comiskey as the moderator of the Closing Plenary. As a wrap-up to the conference, this plenary will offer a dynamic discussion on the intersection of higher education and labor mobility, addressing key topics like international careers, paid vs unpaid internships, and career readiness. Additionally, IES Abroad will contribute in a panel that explores innovative solutions to challenges in international internship programming, encouraging attendees to think creatively about new approaches.
