Skiing in Switzerland

Switzerland might be the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The train ride from Zurich to Interlaken takes you right by stunning mountains and gorgeous blue lakes. Immediately, I was in awe. During our first day, we explored the city, tried a ton of Swiss chocolate, of course, and later went paragliding! I highly recommend this experience if you ever get the chance. I loved soaring above the town, getting the most incredible views of the mountains and the lakes, and doing some fun loopty loops in the sky. I had never done anything like this before, and I thought it was really amazing. I was strapped to my guide the entire time, and I honestly felt very safe. We sailed around for about 20 minutes, catching the wind which would take us up higher, and waving to my friends off in the distance. My guide also had a GoPro, so we got some funny pictures and videos.

The next day, we skied Grindelwald Mountain! We got rental gear from Buri Sport (right on the mountain, very quick and easy) and took a couple of trams to get to our destination. The view from the top of the mountain was absolutely breathtaking. The peaks in the distance were nothing like I had ever seen, and they completely surrounded us. We felt like we were living in a dream. The snow itself wasn’t anything crazy, but the scenery more than made up for it. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the blue sky, and there were barely any lines for the lifts. We skied the entire day until the mountain closed. Later, we got cheese fondue for dinner! The cheese and chocolate in Switzerland are so delicious - I couldn’t get enough. I’m looking forward to the day I return to this majestic country.
