A Presto, Milano!

Words can’t begin to describe how thankful I am to have experienced my semester abroad, from the places I never imagined I would have the opportunity to see and all of the amazing people I met and got to know in Milan and at IES. I can honestly say that I couldn’t have been any happier with my abroad program and everyone in it, it’s unreal to think that I’ve only spent three months with everyone and it’s over already. I’ve definitely made new friends that I won’t forget and can only hope to see again at some point, and have IES to thank for that. Our goodbye dinner only made me happier with our program & those at IES who helped to organize it – there’s no way any other program had the same experience, and I am so glad to have chosen to spend my semester abroad in Milan. Of course I miss home, but I will never be completely ready to leave Milan – saying goodbye to this chapter of my life is so bittersweet, and I’m definitely not saying goodbye to Milan forever. To all my friends at home, I swear I’m not being pretentious or obnoxious whenever I slip out the occasional “si”, “grazie”, “certo”, or “ciao ragazze” – you have Milan to blame for that.

Luini’s Panzerotti, the best Milanese street food, always with lines out the door and around the corner.

Will never get over the view flying over the alps on the way back to Milan.

View from the top of the Duomo!

Porta Venezia stop at our old Viale Regina Giovanna apartment, decorated for the holidays – going to miss this so much.

Out in our last night at Milan, we walked to the Duomo while it was snowing! So beautiful.
