After a 15 hour flight from the States, I felt that it was only fitting to begin my pre-study abroad trip in Australia with the delicious Mojo'z BIG breakfast from White Mojo in Melbourne.
Of course I did some research on places to visit in Melbourne, and after looking at all of the google images, I actually made it to the colorful Brighton Beach huts.
Protip: If you ever get the chance to go to Australia, take a tour of the Great Ocean Road because I got this riveting view of the 12 Apostles.
En route to Sydney, Australia
When my dad and I were planning our Australia trip (shoutout to my sister for making our entire itinerary), we had no idea we'd be there for Australia Day (which is like America's 4th of July). It was a pretty spectacular day celebrating the founding of the colony of New South Wales, and at night watching the fireworks at Darling Harbour with the proud Australians.
When in Sydney, definitely do the Bondi (pictured below) to Coogee Beach coastal walk. But make sure you have good walking shoes, tons of sunscreen, and your camera. Although I was sweating up a storm the whole time, the views were worth it.
Thus ends my 9 day trip in the land down under. Next stop: Auckland, New Zealand.
Do you see that really tall pointy building in the skyline pictured below? That's the Auckland Skytower, it is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern hemisphere.
"I'm going on an adventure!" -Bilbo Baggins (also me after landing in NZ)
If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, you cannot miss a tour of the Hobbiton Movie set in Matamata.
We took a gondola ride up to the Queenstown skyline and stumbled across this stunning overview of Queenstown.
It was a tough trek up to the summit of the Queenstown Hill Time Walk, but I could see New Zealand from a whole new perspective.
I have much appreciation for the unreal experience and for this incredible photo taken by my dad, David Weinstein.
