Gratitude for Connections and Experiences
I am incredibly grateful for the friendships and connections I made during my time abroad. My supportive Salamanca family, including my warm-hearted host mom, Lola, and my roommate, Katie, made this experience feel like home. Together, we shared meals, stories, and countless laughs that I will cherish forever. Beyond Salamanca, my travels introduced me to incredible people from all walks of life. Whether it was chatting with fellow travelers at a hostel or learning local traditions from warm-hearted residents, every connection left a lasting impression and reminded me of the beauty of human connection.

A Safe Space for Growth
Salamanca provided an environment that felt uniquely supportive and nurturing. The city’s tranquil charm, coupled with its vibrant cultural life, created the perfect balance for growth. I found myself thriving in the peaceful rhythm of the city, enjoying moments of stillness while also engaging in exciting adventures. Mornings spent sipping café con leche while journaling or afternoons wandering through cobblestone streets gave me the mental space to reflect on my goals. It was in this serene setting that I managed to focus on completing my graduate school applications, balancing work and leisure in a way I never thought possible. Salamanca became a haven, offering me the clarity and peace I needed to flourish both personally and academically.

Embracing Change and Personal Growth
Choosing to study abroad during my senior year was initially a daunting decision, but it’s one I’ll never regret. The change of scenery and fresh perspective pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t know I needed. I developed personally, socially, and professionally, stepping out of my comfort zone and learning more about myself in the process.

Living in the Moment
One of the most valuable lessons I learned in Salamanca was the art of living in the present. My host mom, friends, and even the laid-back pace of the city itself taught me to slow down and savor life’s simple joys. From lively dinners filled with stories and laughter to unplanned trips to nearby towns, I found beauty in spontaneity and imperfection. I stopped worrying so much about what was next and instead focused on the here and now. Whether it was watching a breathtaking sunset over the Tormes River or enjoying the lively energy of the Plaza Mayor at night, I felt more connected to the present moment than ever before.

Returning Home with a New Perspective
As I prepare to reintegrate into life back at school, I do so as a changed person. My three months in Salamanca have given me a renewed outlook on life. With a clearer perspective and a stronger sense of self, I feel ready to embrace this next chapter with gratitude, confidence, and excitement.

A Deeper Love for Exploration
Exploring beyond Salamanca allowed me to discover the diversity and beauty of Spain. One of the most memorable trips was to San Sebastián, a coastal gem in the Basque Country. Its breathtaking beaches, vibrant culinary scene, and picturesque views made it feel like a slice of paradise. Walking along La Concha Beach or wandering through the Old Town gave me a deeper appreciation of life. These experiences deepened my love for exploration and reinforced the idea that there’s so much to learn from stepping outside of my comfort zone. Goodbye Salamanca. Until next time…
