In this eagerly-awaited edition of Grace’s Blog, I will be posting some photos from my semester so far. I can't believe I've already been here a month! One of my favorite things to do is turn an unfamiliar place into a new home. Thanks to my host family and friends, I’ve done it here in Granada. I have favorite places to eat, favorite trails to run on, and favorite people to see. I never imagined I would feel so comfortable so soon.
On the other hand, I am a little anxious about already falling into a routine. I’m trying to balance my desire for comfort with my desire for wonder. How can I still be in awe of my surroundings if they’re all things I’ve seen before? The simple answer would be that I should keep seeing things that I’ve never seen before. But I like the things I’ve seen before! That’s why I want to see them again! I’m sure there’s a healthy balance to strike between comfort and wonder, but I’m beginning to worry that scale’s proximity to comfort is too close for comfort (blehhh). It would be a real shame to go another month without a strong dose of wonder. Luckily, I will be seeing Córdoba tomorrow, Madrid later this weekend, and Morocco in a few weeks. I’m sure this will help.
Thank you to those who have followed this blog so far. I know I joke about it being painfully embarrassing, but it means a lot that there are real humans taking the time to read this stuff.
Warmly,
Grace
