La Mercè is an annual festival that takes place in Barcelona to celebrate the Virgen de la Merced. This is a weeklong celebration that started on September 18th and ended on September 24th. The last day of the celebration is the biggest day, which included activities like a parade of the giants, Castellers (human towers), concerts, and an amazing fireworks show at the end of the day. This was a fun filled day and the best part was that all the events were free!
Parade of the Giants!
Castellers in Plaça Sant Jaume. It's amazing seeing them do this in person. The people at the top are small children!
Fireworks in Plaça d'Espanya

I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California and I have a passion for traveling, exploring new places, trying new food, and taking tons of pictures. In my free time I like to go thrift shopping, drawing, taking trips to Los Angeles, and spending time with my family. Studying in Barcelona this fall is such a blessing and I couldn?t be happier with my decision.</p>
