Snowy Mountains in July and Other Adventures in New Zealand

July 30, 2019

You know, education is a very cool and important thing. I am extremely lucky to attend a great home university and an amazing school abroad as well. However, I would not be fooling anyone if I said I decided to study in New Zealand because of academics alone. I picked this small country on the other side of the world, more specifically the South Island, because of the vast natural beauties this land has to offer. As you could easily guess if you’ve seen my tattoo (sorry, Dad), I am a mountain girl. So as you can imagine, I jumped at my first few opportunities to get up and onto some higher ground. Oh, and just a reminder to my northern hemispheric friends out there, it is the middle of winter here. That's right, it is seriously like Christmas in July. Here are a few photos from some of my favorite adventures with my favorite people, enjoy!

Hi! My name is Lexi and I am a junior spending my semester abroad at the University of Canterbury. Although my home university is in a city, I absolutely love being outdoors! Some of my favorite activities are hiking (especially with dogs), swimming in lakes, and trail running. I can't wait to explore the beautiful South Island of New Zealand and share some of my adventures!
